Politano Cafe is looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team in Victoria, BC. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a variety of menu items while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and food safety. Key responsibilities include: * Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes according to recipes and cafe standards. * Ensure consistent food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation. * Prepare ingredients and perform food preparation tasks before and during service. * Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area. * Follow proper food handling, storage, and food safety procedures. * Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs. * Assist with receiving and storing food supplies when required. * Work efficiently with other kitchen and front-of-house team members. * Follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements

* Previous cooking or commercial kitchen experience is preferred. * Ability to prepare and cook food safely and consistently. * Knowledge of basic food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular kitchen duties. * Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. * Availability to work full-time, including varying shifts as required.
